Mavs take Game 5 - one down, two to go

Two words: DeSegana Diop
One Statistic: 11 points

Eleven points from De Segana Diop is a Texas-sized cloudburst of much needed offensive-ness for the D-Mavs. They needed something to spark a rout of the Warriors, and for the first few minutes of the the first quarter in Game 5, Diop was The Man. He went after the ball on both ends of the court, and had scored 5 points within the first three minutes of the game - Diop is not an offensive machine, but last night, he gave Dirk & Co. a much needed kickstart.

Of course, the Mavs blew their great start, and even threatened to throw the whole thing down the toilet, but Nowitzki FINALLY took over in the last three minutes to toss up a dozen and overcome a nine-point DeficitMonkey wearing a yellow We Believe t-shirt...

Game 6 is in Oakland - the Mavs need to come up with another explosion of points Thursday night and assert their authority before coming home to win game 7 and keep the Warriors at Bay...
